iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ are the new big things. Everyone is talking about the iPhone 6 and it is making me crazy! The iPhone 6 plus is huge! It is basically an iPad mini. It is not a phone if you can't fit it in your pocket! For some reason people like phones that don't even look like phones. A lot of new phones have started to get bigger screens, like the Galaxy note. The iPhone 6+ has an even bigger screen and with its new technology with Siri and IOS 8 it seems to be getting a little out of hand.
It could be just me but these new phones that are coming out like the samsung 4K display phone is just not a phone anymore. Did you know that the iPhone 4s which is now out dated has more processing power than the Apollo space craft! Here are some simple numbers I found online:
Apollo space craft:
Dimensions: 24 x 12.5 x 6.5 inches
Weight: 70 pounds
Processor speed: 1 MHz
Memory: 2,048 words (32,768 bits or roughly 4kB)
Display: seven-segment numeric
Power consumption: 55 watts
Price: $150,000 (est.)
Apple iPhone 4S
Data from Apple, phonearena.com, and chipdesignmag.com.
Dimensions: 4.5 x 2.31 x 0.37 inches
Weight: 4.9 ounces
Processor speed: 800 MHz, dual core
Memory: 512 MB of RAM, built in storage of 16, 32, or 64 GB
Display: 3.5 inches, full color, 649 x 960 pixels
Power consumption: 0.7 to 1.5 watts
Price: starting at $199 (with 2-year contract)
Now some new phones have up to 8x the amount of memory that the iPhone 4s has and the phones today weigh less and has double the processor speed, so they have even more powerful. We landed on the moon with an early computer system that today would not be able to sell for one dollar!
Phones are really changing. Soon a phone will probably have the same power as a powerful desktop computer. Phones will also get better screens. This world is getting a bit to insane for me. I'm out!
The breeze blows,
The fly flies,
Ouch that's a window.
The air stings,
The water bites,
Time to sleep.
Sound echoes everywhere
from the yells of the men,
then the fight starts.
The star twinkles,
It gets bigger,
The dry hot sun,
makes the skin cry,
and the dogs whine.
My favorite that I have read so far:
This was my favorite at the time when I was writing my Haikus because I was out on my deck sitting by myself at seven. This piece spoke out at me in a weird sense that I can't fully explain. That is why I have chosen it as my favorite one.
Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has the more one wants.
Money does not lead to happiness; The Gift Of The Magi by O.Henry is about a girl who is struggling for money, but wants to buy a present for her husband. O.Henry seems to imply in The Gift Of Magi that even if you can not afford something nice the only thing that counts is the thought. Bella and Jim are two poor lovers who are struggling in life. They live in an eight dollar flat that they can barley afford. It was winter time and Bella wanted to buy a gift for Jim but she had no money because Jim only makes twenty dollars per week. I felt that that this piece spoke to me in the sense that there are people struggling in the world. Not everyone has the chance to go to a nice school like Fenn and not everyone has the money to afford nice things. Money might not buy happiness but it could help someone in need and I feel that we all should think about how we sometimes buy unnecessary items. Money can't buy happiness, but it is still needed.
Fish are simple minded creatures, but need complex care taking. I recently bought some fish. I thought it would be an easy process; plug in the aquarium and then put in the fish. It was the exact opposite of what I thought. Did you know that some fish can't live in a small space? They are fish! What does it mean that they need at least 10 gallons of water to swim in? I am not even sure if fish are conscious, never the less care how much space they can swim in. Another problem I have noticed; feeding them. I am not sure when they are hungry. Sometimes I put in food and they eat it, sometimes they don't. There is no way of knowing if they are starving or full. How can fish be so difficult? I also have to clean the tank because it gets dirty. That makes me think of how they even survive in the wild. Water in the ocean and lakes is usually dirtier than mine. So why do they care about a little bit of dirt in the tank?
There are multiple different types of fish. I looked up some facts about fish and it turns out that some fish don't like each other. How picky can they be! I can't believe that I also have to heat it to their liking.
So it turns out that fish are not as simple as I thought. Maybe I should have gotten another dog or cat. *Sigh* Have to end this here because I think my catfish is being bullied by my other fish. I need to teach them manners.
Saturday morning, finally, I can take it easy. This was what I thought when I woke up but then I remembered that I had to go shopping. I got dressed and walked downstairs. There I saw my Mom who was waiting for me so we could go to the mall. The hour long drive to the mall was painful but it had to be done. This is what I get for growing. I walked in with my parents and first thing they did was to find pants that I had to try on. When I chose two I liked I thought I was done, but no, my Mom had found even more pants for me to try on. Would I ever make it out? It felt like hours before we were heading out of the store, because it had been hours, then my Mom found a shirt. When my Mom finds something it is always back to the dressing room. So then my Dad also looked around for shirts, I was trying not to fall asleep from boredom, but it was not easy.
After what felt like it had been a year we walked out; I was alive! Now we had to "walk around" and it would not "take long". This meant that we had another hour of walking looking for something to buy.
After our fun walk we were heading back to the car, this meant going through the clothes store again. I was not sure if I was going to be able to make it through the store alive. We were halfway through when my Mom passed the women's section. Of course she saw something that she liked and snatched it up. After what felt like another few years (really only half an hour) we finally made it out! I was free! All that was left now was the car ride home, but that I could handle.
At the end of the summer I went to Six Flags with my friends. I love roller coasters, if they are not 400 feet tall. Many of you know heights are not my thing. So when I walked into the park and saw that almost all roller coasters were higher then 150 feet I got goose bumps. Lucky for me we went to the water park first. There were not many scary rides in the water park, but there were so many lines! Almost everywhere there was a 30 minute line. That is what we got for going on a saturday.
After a few rides we were trying to get food. I say trying because the people running the stand where we were buying food were not paying attention. There were multiple people yelling at them for their food. the line kept getting longer, and three people cut in front of me and took the chicken fingers that came up which I were waiting for. I had to finally tell one lady who took the chicken fingers I was reaching for that I had waited in line and she and three other people had just cut me and taken my food. She got mad and said that she can't believe how rude I was and gave me the chicken fingers in a rude manner. I was surprised how she thought I was rude when she had cut in front of me and literally reached over me to grab the chicken fingers I was trying to get.
After the chaos of getting food we went to the real park with all the roller coasters. As I pointed out before in my blog post I do not like heights. I had to be the one guy who passed on all the big roller coasters and wait 45 minutes until my friends were done.
There were a few roller coasters I went on. One was a 100 ft tall one that spun in circles on the way down a drop. This for me was not fun but I manned up enough to do it. I was lucky enough to be saved another hour because the line was anyways to long! I was very happy that instead we did another water one. This was a river rafting water ride. You were not supposed to get wet so we did not change for it. When we got on the water rafting ride a family stepped on and joined us. That family had one little boy that was 4 years old. He was afraid of getting wt but his parents told him that he would not get wet except for some splashes. On the ride there were a few water falls, luckily most of these missed us except for one. We got stuck on a little rock right as water started to fall above us, can you guess who got hit with a few gallons of water? The little 4 year old boy. It was extremely sad because the 4 year old was stuck under the water for about 5 seconds until we got lose again. Once we were back and got off the ride the 4 year old was shivering a crying. We gave the family a spare towel we had and walked off.
After the incident we went on a couple of rides but then decided to go home. It had been a long day and fun day but I was glad that it was over. Six Flags is a fun place to be with your friends, but it is the memories and stories you have after that is probably the best part of Six Flags.
